Megève, a Michelin star crowned chef, refined taste, imaginative and traditional cooking…

It is essentially thanks to its history and farming heritage that Megève is today one of the most remarkable ambassadors of mountain gastronomy.

The 45 local farms and producers set the tone of a village that has always looked for excellence in its products, and that for a century has attracted generations of young talented chefs with an innovative spirit. Its 89 RESTAURANTS, OF WHICH 3 HAVE MICHELIN STARS, offer a wide variety of savours to excite your taste buds.
Furthermore the chefs do not hesitate to favour local cuisine – from the meat from Megève’s own slaughterhouse, to the sorbets and yoghurts from the « Ferme de Joseph », and not forgetting the plants and herbs found growing naturally in the mountains.

Throughout the year, on Friday mornings, both locals and visitors wind their way through the stalls of Megève’s market seeking a local speciality to share.

Megève, 6 stars village. After Emmanuel Renaut’s 3 stars, two other restaurants obtained stars

Emmanuel Renaut is a hallmark of gourmet cuisine in Megève and throughout the French Alps. He gained at « Flocons de Sel » 3 stars in 2012. Two other restaurants obtained famous Michelin stars, a reference in French cuisine, in acknowledgement of the quality work of two talented young chefs and their brigades.

Megève shines even more brightly in 2016 with a second star for « Le 1920 » restaurant at Chalet du Mont d’Arbois. It confirms the culinary excellence of Julien Gatillon, its chef since 2012.
Christophe Schuffenecker, who has been working at « La Table de l’Alpaga », also since 2012, has awarded one star since 2014.

From traditional restaurants to exclusive dining experiences, Megève has perfected its diverse collection of know how and once again confirmed its status as ambassador of mountain gastronomy.
